A psychological testing and assessment consultation with a psychologist typically involves a discussion about your concerns and reasons for seeking testing, as well as a review of your personal history and any relevant medical or educational records. The psychologist will explain the different types of tests available, their purpose, and how the results will be used to provide personalized recommendations and treatment options. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss any anxieties you may have about the testing process. The goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and informed before proceeding.
When completing psych testing, clients can expect various questions and tasks to assess their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Some tests may involve multiple-choice questions, while others might require you to interpret images, solve puzzles, or answer open-ended prompts. The tests are confidential, and the results will be discussed with you by Dr. Howe. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers, and your responses will be used to understand your individual needs and develop a personalized treatment plan if necessary. This may take several hours and can be completed in one appointment or throughout several sessions if necessary.
During a feedback session, a client can expect to receive a comprehensive explanation of their psychological testing and assessment results.Dr. Howe will discuss the strengths and areas for growth identified by the tests, providing specific examples and insights into the client's personality, cognitive abilities, and emotional patterns. This session will foster a collaborative and supportive environment where the client can ask questions, clarify their understanding, and develop a personalized plan for addressing any concerns or achieving their goals. The therapist will tailor the feedback to the individual client, ensuring it is clear, understandable, and ultimately helpful in promoting their well-being.
Clients are strongly discouraged from having the psychologist subpoenaed. Though the client's attorney who initiates the subpoena request, is responsible for a court appearance and testimony fees, it does not meant that the psychologist's testimony will be solely in the client's favor. The psychologist will only testify their professional opinion and to the facts of the case. The minimum fee for a court appearance is $2400. Additional fees may be discussed upon consultation.
Dr. Howe requires a consent form to be submitted before psych testing can begin. Below are several forms that may apply to you, depending on your specific situation.
